All that rain from the day before storms caused flooding in our valley.  The Payette River reached it’s highest levels since 1997, and the third highest in history (I think).  There wasn’t a lot of damage to homes in our valley, but low lying parks and farmland took a hit.

I just love this shot of our friends’ daughter in her raincoat and flip flops.  I know that it’s blurry, but I kept coming back to it, so I decided to pick it for the POTD.   It just says “summer evening” to me.

It rained this morning.  I love summer rain.  All the windows were open in the house and I could smell and hear the rain falling as Doug and I drank our coffee.  So refreshing.  So nice.  I didn’t use to feel this way about summer rain.  When we lived in western Washington state, I hated it, maybe because it rained more often than not.  But now, we live in the high desert and summer rain is welcomed.  Well, unless you have hay down……which I am sure some farmers do because it only rains in the summer when hay is down.
