Days are getting longer and the sun is coming up earlier these days.   That makes me happy.  Today our newspaper (The Idaho Statesman) reported that “Boise saw just 5,194 minutes of sunshine from Jan. 1 to Jan. 27, according to the National Weather Service.  That translates into an average of 3.2 hours of sunshine per day for the first 27 days of the month – though in actuality, 13 days had less than an hour of sunshine.”  Blech, no wonder it feels like my feet are dragging through mud.  However, nothing like when we lived in Western Washington.  One year we had 90 days in a row of measurable precipitation .  Now that was depressing.  Some of you might wonder what U.S. city is the sunniest………turns out it is Yuma,  Arizona (hi mom and dad, I will be heading your way soon!)
