Idaho has the most whitewater in the continental U.S. Of that whitewater, 3,500 river miles are runnable. We drove up to the South Fork of the Payette to try to grab some pictures of people on the river. This group is from Cascade Raft Company. They all looked like they were having a great time. I have rafted and kayaked the main steam of the Payette and I have rafted the Cabarton run. I have not been on this stretch of the river. The water is so inviting and looks so fun, but I have a healthy respect for it. Unfortunately not everyone does. There were two deaths on the river after we were gone. It happens every year. These rivers are not to be taken lightly.
